Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director – Catering, Conference Services &/or Events, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:* *

Solicits/books local catering business and develops group business.

Develops and manages catering sales revenue and operation budgets, and provides forecasting reports.

Organize sales calls with venues, DMC´s and agencies.

Offer the clients different providers in order to maximize revenue.

Follow up that the deposit payments are made on time.

Follow up that the numbers of guests confirmed by final clients meet the minimum.

Ensures billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill.

Assists with selling, implementation and follow-through of catering promotions.

Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).

Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency of how and when to impose deadlines and delegate tasks.

Manages the catering sales efforts for the property including local and offsite catering business.

Work with the culinary team in order to develops menus which drive sales.

Be creative in order to exceed guest expectations.

Suggest different type of decorations and set up to clients in order to increase revenue.

Qualifies business and tracks leads.

Solicits and books meetings, conferences and catered corporate and social events.

Finalizes and upsells catering arrangements

Negotiates and markets to drive sales and create profits.

Identifies customer needs and all sales opportunities which ensure successful catering events.

Solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements if necessary.

Leads pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups.

Identifies operational challenges associated with his/her event and works with the property staff and customer to solve these challenges and/or develop alternative solutions.

Conducts pre- and post-event meetings as required to review/communicate event needs and feedback.

Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.

Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.

Ensures associates understand expectations and parameters.

Creates BEOs according to the client’s requests and company standards and group resume.

Working as a contact between providers and property.

Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures.

Organize and coordinate different tasting.

Employee Status


Bachelor’s degree and/or Hotel Management degree/diploma and/or minimum one year as a Sales Representative and/or equivalent industry experience

Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.

Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Most tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team player. There is minimal direct supervision.

Knowledge of sales skills.

Knowledge of conference & catering.

Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel. Good knowledge of Opera Sales & Catering & PMS systems in order to be competent in checking bedroom and meeting space availability

Ability to assess/evaluate performance fairly.

Knowledge of hotel and competitive environment

Ability to deal with a high volume of incoming calls, type correspondence such as contracts and proposals

Desire to participate as part of a team.
