Application Specialist for an international role with Agilent Technologies

You will become a part of the department Pathology EMEAI Export which consist in total of 10 people: Director, Administrative assistant, 4 Business Managers and the Application team – headed by Team leader and with 4 positions for Application Specialist. The team work with 35 partners and cover 43 countries. The region covers distributors in Europe, Africa and Middle East.

Each Application Specialist (ApSp) has an area of responsibility – with high attention on 5-10 countries. Your focus area will be Middle East countries, but the ApSp team work closely together, and i.e. during holidays there will always be one assigned ApSp to support the partners. It can occur that an ApSp will have to travel to other countries than their primary focus area, and here the team will also be available for support.

You will work from home/local office depending on the location, and will have weekly meetings with team manager, as well as bi-weekly team meetings where you will develop your knowledge of the tools and get support from a very strong and well-functioning team. Further, as you work remotely you will have all meetings on video and conference calls.

Internal training will take place in Denmark as well as co-visiting the customers for further training.

Job Function

  • To work with the distributors of EMEAI Export with the responsibility for supporting sales growth and execution of sales strategy to achieve company targets in the role of Application Specialist

  • Responsible for developing the sales channel including improving the sales skills within the EMEAI Export to meet the challenge of selling Agilent Pathology solutions, reagents and instruments

  • Significant field travel requirements to meet the needs of the business, distributors and the customers (up to 75 %, very variable)

  • Effectively demonstrate and communicate the benefits of the Agilent Pathology offering to a targeted and qualified audience. This involves both internal and external customer presentation on Agilent Company and Pathology solutions and our approach to business.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Customer visits: Training/Demos as well as promotion in collaboration with Business Managers

  • Adaption of Agilent Pathology products to customer needs where agreed and approved by Sales, Application and the Customer

  • Customer support – To handle customer complaints and inquiries in collaboration with local sales and service personnel

  • Product training in Agilent Pathology Solutions – to attend and to conduct training of partners (in Dako Academy – Denmark)

  • Attendance to congresses and meetings

  • Attendance to the sales meetings

Qualifications

Qualifications required for the job

  • Medical Laboratory Technologist – Histopathology or similar

  • Highly experienced within pathology workflow, slide staining and especially immunohistochemistry

  • Ability to teach, inform and coach

  • Knowledge of the competitive landscape is an advantage

  • High degree of business understanding and customer focus

  • Windows at super user level

  • Good English language skills (written as well as spoken)

  • Arabic or French language skills is an advantage
