The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and controlling demand planning processes through the following tasks:

  • Run and continually apply expertise to evaluate the statistical forecasting models in order to improve accuracy, correcting inaccuracy from any source as a continuous process improvement.

  • Facilitate and coordinate accumulation of forecast input from key stakeholders such as sales, box plants and business leadership.

  • Create and revise short and medium term demand forecasts directly impacting manufacturing, inventories, material acquisition and the distribution network, and long term ones as basis for strategic and financial planning.

  • Utilize a supply planning simulator tool to develop a Master Plan that fulfills demand requirements while maximizing the efficiency of production and distribution.

  • Facilitate the Sales & Operations Planning Process (resolve bottlenecks, constraints, overtime and cost implications) and modify as needed.

  • Distribute (unconstrained) consensus demand plan and final (constrained) demand plan to key stakeholders. Maintain monthly records and reports for KPI’s.

  • Identify mid-term and long term opportunities to the box plants to align grades/basis weights/widths to optimize common stocking items at the supplying mill and works with each region to implement.

  • Provide direction to mills’ supply planning and business leaders in order to optimize roll stock for fulfillment of converting requirements.

  • Determine appropriate run strategies (make to order vs. make to stock) and appropriate stock locations and target stock quantities to optimize supply chain and meet customer requirements.

  • Clearly communicate and educate others on the touch points between Supply Planning, Order Management, Demand Planning, and Transportation/Warehousing processes in order to ensure a seamless linkage in the transfer of knowledge and information within the business.


  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or similar)

  • Knowledge of paper mill and box plant operations and equipment desired.

  • 2 or more years of product experience in a planning or service position.

  • And 2 or more years forecasting/demand planning experience within a sophisticated demand planning environment, utilizing advanced planning tools.

  • Statistical knowledge and experience working with statistical tools.

  • Knowledge in SAP, MS Excel and Access.

  • English fluency required. French, Italian or Spanish language skills desired.
