International Paper Technical Product Manager in Spain

The selected candidate will contribute to EMEA Containerboard financial objectives through the following responsibilities:
Provide technical support in product selection and elimination of sourcing restrictions to EMEA Containerboard customers within a EMEA geographic region, in order to optimize product performance at minimum costs.
CVM consultative services to EMEA Packaging box plants that includes: optimization of box plant systems performance, business and plant operations audits and corrugator and converting equipment audits.
Develop and maintain a close working relationships with internal customers (EMEA Packaging - Corrugated Box Plants: Spain, France, Morocco, Italy and Turkey), associated Trade Partners and strategic external customers. Manage sensitive customer service situations and act as customer advocate to resolve them in the most profitable way.
Develop market positions by identifying product performance issues and working with the mill(s) to correct them, and collecting market and competitive data to identify product enhancement and new product development needs.
Manage the complaint resolution process and minimize financial claims by providing leadership in the areas of field investigation, root cause analysis, negotiation of claim settlement, product disposition and sale, and corrective action implementation.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Technical background as Engineer with strong knowledge of papermaking required. Knowledge of corrugating, converting and testing processes strongly desired.
English fluency required and Spanish highly desired. Other languages such as French, Italian, Turkish are beneficial.

Computer skills and group presentation skills.
Customer focus with strong oral and written communication skills and effective in working with diverse teams.
Demonstrated root cause analysis and problem solving skills (Manufacturing Excellence Yellow belt certification or similar desired).
Self-motivated with strong initiative and ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
Skilled in dealing with ambiguity and conflict resolution playing an unbiased arbiter role between the mill(s) and box plants.
Capable of quickly earning trust, confidence, credibility and developing a genuine rapport with customers and business leadership.
